After his long-standing activity in the automotive industry, at one of the world's leading automotive suppliers, and his also multi-year commitment to a Finnish producer of firewalls, VPN, and mobile devices, Mr. Karsten Engler founded the sole proprietorship ProjektBürro Karsten Engler on March 1, 2001, with its headquarters in Neuss (on the Rhine) and Frankfurt/Main.
On January 1, 2007, the ProjektBürro Karsten Engler was renamed to VAKT Karsten Engler. VAKT® has been registered as a trademark with the German Patent and Trade Mark Office since March 21, 2007. On November 17, 2009, Mr. Karsten Engler, together with Mrs. Anett Müller-Engler, founded the company VAKT® Unternehmensgesellschaft, which took over the rights to the brand. The VAKT® Unternehmensgesellschaft started its business activities in the areas of interim management, service management, and project management in January 2009 and is active worldwide, with a focus on D-A-CH. In July 2018, the VAKT® Unternehmensgesellschaft was transformed into VAKT® GmbH.
